Funk Motorsport Titanium Exhaust Wrap

Funk Motorsport Lava Rock Titanium Exhaust wrap is made using a ceramic wrap infused with Lava rock. This Heat wrap is a vital component of heat management and has great benefits for all engine applications. Exhaust heat wrap has a number of benefits for all-round performance gains. The header wrap helps create a thermal sleeve around the individual branches of the exhaust, keeping the pipe insulated and maintaining a higher core gas temperature. As we know a hotter gas actually helps to accelerate out of the downpipe and exhaust system faster. In turbo applications, Exhaust wrap can improve spool time!

Reducing engine bay temperatures will allow components to live longer and work more efficiently, providing heat shielding can also improve engine performance by creating a lower air intake temperature.

Still not sure? Heard the exhaust wrap myths? Breath easy, if exhaust insulation wrap is applied correctly, with a consistent overlap and a tight fitment, there will be no heat spots meaning that the metal walls remain a consistent temperature and so the entire exhaust manifold / system will expand and contract at the same rate, maintaining a safe fitment and lifespan. Other exhaust wrap problem myths include, “exhaust wrap will crack your exhaust due to holding the moisture”. Wrong. In a way, Insulation wrap may act like a damp cloth, but this will only be the case if you have intentionally soaked the wrap (something we encourage when applying heat wrap). But, you will notice, after the first heat cycles, it may be common to see the exhaust wrap smoking. This is normal and is just showing the excess moisture and chemicals in the wrap escaping. Smoke is normal and will die away after the first runs of your car. This shows that the moisture will not cause an issue, as it will quickly disappear once warm.
